COURT ORDER!

Now if that dildo was to openly stalk that bitch(Don't know who Sheri is) on the show, it could do wonders on the ratings!

There are no rumors about one of the guys banging her. No rumors at all. Movie magazines, I don't read'em. Move along, nothing to see here.

The conspiracy theorists (read "some long-time gampers") have long held that *something* transpired between Shari and a show member to cause the change of scenery for Shari. I think the caller was a gamper, personally.

This is just another one of those things that we'll never know the TRUTH about, like the Infinity contract negotiations, the John Stevens 'Don is Dead' court outcome (if any), and where the hell the "official" D&M website is . . . ;)

No, the "change of scenery" was that Sheri was offered a drive time slot on WHFS, not as the traffic reporter, but as the side-kick. She left for that offer, which of course didn't pan out, and now is back doing traffic for Channel 9 (CBS) and DC-101 in the afternoons.

Shari was the traffic reporter in the early 90's and had the third seat on the show. Mostly she did what Buzz and Rob do now--throws in a few comments when she could get a word in edgewise, and had an infectious laugh. She also had the "sweet" personality on the show, which tempered D&M's venom. It was a very nice mix while she was on.

She got offered a show that was, I think, a little bit like Art Bell's, dealing with psychics and the paranormal. She officially left to do that, and when that ended, went on to other things. I think she was on a morning show for awhile. Plus she was in the Capital Steps or something like that. And like a lot of people, probably had higher ambitions than reporting backups on the beltway every 20 minutes and fending off Dennis Murphy on the phone.

Conspiracy theorists who think there was more to it tend to base it on these things:
1) callers who got through and said they thought Don and Shari were having an affair
2) Shari is very, very rarely mentioned on the show. This is maybe the 2nd time I've heard her name since they quit playing her on Best-of. Other people who've come and gone still get mentioned--even the late Frank Murphy.
3) they won't play best-of segments from the Shari era, even though there's a lot of gold from that time
4) Mike's "well--" when the caller asked if she'd left on good terms.
5) the fact that Diana Sillman, ex-producer from around the same time, left abruptly and gets the same treatment (zero mention at all, and no tape), and handled on-air the same way--she left to pursue other things. Yet her departure was linked (at least on the internet) to the CD-ROM controversy. So it's easy to think that there's a hidden part over Shari's departure as well.
6) considering the nature of the show and the personalities, it's very easy to believe that something went on that they aren't talking about.

Some very old shows occasionally get posted on the internet, and you can hear her on them.

Btw: it is spelled SHARI She was named after the famous ventriloquist, Shari Lewis.

That was a lot of info, that I know remember now that you mention it.

Great summary of the "Shari Period" and you're right , there was a lot of gold in them thar years. Does anyone have any info , rumours , innuendo on what happened with Diana Sillman? What is this "CD-Rom controversy" that you speak of? Damn it all , Best-of seems so haphazardly thrown together nowadays yet someone has gone through with a razor and taken out all references to Shari and Diana.

Every vacation I wait and wait and wait , hoping that I'll get tp hear and tape the Memphis Riots. :(

No, I'm just a long-time listener and fan of the show. I liked Shari on the show but that was it.

If I'm going to end up in jail for stalking someone, I'd rather it be for Catherine Bell. She's more my type.

Memphis Riots are floating around on the internet somewhere.

The way I heard/remember it: Diana was engaged to the guy who produced their CD-ROM game, THE WORLD OF DON & MIKE. D&M were pissed with him because he was talking to Liddy about producing a similar CD-ROM for him, and this was at a time when D&M and Liddy weren't speaking. D&M would only make references to him as Captain Queeg and his strawberries (you'd have to see The Caine Mutiny to understand that fully). So D&M saw this as giving aid and comfort to the enemy.

So--right about the time this was going down, Diana left the show.

Coincidence? You decide.
