Oh, Noes, another website with funny things to distract and amuse me...
I never realized that this "shoveling out your space and reserving it" was such a big deal. I guess we don't get that much snow that it's generally a problem. And of course I no longer park in the street, so if I shovel at all, it's my driveway, and no one better park there or I call the tow truck...you hear me, in-laws?

PDB, you would be wrong in your assumption.
During the latest snow storm, I came home from work and some strange truck was parked in my drive way. There's no note and the elders were home. A neighbor said the guy had pretended to shovel another drive way when Waiter on the Way delivered but then walked off down the street. After a half an hour, I called the police to get it towed. They tell me to get it towed. And have crack head seek his revenge, I don't think so. The local leo, thinking I'm nuts, calls me back and asks is the vehicle in my drive way. I say, "Yes, it's all the way in my driveway and the tags are expired." leo, "Is it blocking your car in?" Me, "No I can't get in my driveway. Plus, there had been a space shoveled on the street, which I parked in so it's not like he had no place to park." By now, it's been an hour and while I'm talking to them, random man walks from the opposite direction and yells, "I'm the owner. I left the keys in the ignition!!" Gets in his truck and drives away. I pull into my space and drop my briefcase in the house and go back out to put ice melt down. Random man slowly drives by, from the opposite direction.
I'm thinking a dead body will be found in the neighborhood once all the snow melts. :couch:

A chair? A chair?!
Really?
Really?
Apparently, they do the same thing in Baltimore and in Washington, DC. People get creative and use dining room chairs, sofas, tables etc... All I can say is thank goodness I own a home with a driveway and every place is mine to park.
