It's actually stormy in Northern CA today

http://cbs13.com/local/severe.weather.sacr...o.2.622287.html

and the local news is going apesh*t!

Look there's a tree down, oh oh that fence fell down, that tree almost hit fire hydrant

of course there is some serious damage as well, another big rig just tipped over, and many don't have power

but my house has electricity and I'm off for the whole weekend so I get to watch the coverage - they almost sound disappointed that the high wind advisory is going to end at 4pm (Pacific Time)

Actually the rest of the stations are going with regular programing but our local CBS affiliate is keeping up the hype

Well, winter-like and Canadian.... supposed to become unseasonably warm in the next couple of days, but right now it is just below freezing with a slight wind chill, so it is more like December weather than January.

After sitting under snow for a couple weeks, we're beginning a warming trend. Weekend temps will approach 60 for the high, and nearly 40 for the low (That's Fahrenheit for our metric neighbors to the North!). Chances of rain on Monday and Tuesday.

^_^ Yes, I am aware that you are not talking temps that would put you close to the surface of the sun!! I purposely did NOT put that it was -5 with a -10 windchill for that very reason. Sounds like Rory is getting the same weather, weird....

Windy and 50, because the wind is from the south. After the storm blows in maybe we can settle back into single digit lows and highs near freezing.

Wind and rain here. About 43 and supposed to get 5 to 7 feet of snow above 7000 ft level. Got that damn snow blower out and am sending SMYs way. I know he will like her.
Supposed to snow in Reno tonight about 3 to 6 inches been raining all day from about 5:30 am I think we will get our annual rainfall amount all in one day.

The old hometown

30 minutes away from the current hometown

From everything I've heard reported, it's supposed to be a doozy, albeit later than originally predicted.

We have sandbags all around our back patio just in case. With The Mike off fishing tomorrow, I'll be goddamned if I'm gonna hop around on one foot in the back yard, trying to abate a yard tsunami into my living room!!

Yep, we got the storm from Sac with steady rain all day in Reno, which is very unusual. Got some minor flooding in my neighborhood. And my roof is leaking into my wallboard which is peeling and needs to be replaced when things dry out. Hopfully I can find the damn leak in the roof this time! Crawled through the attic and didn't see it.

Been snowing for an hour now. I'm currently hearing we can get 6" to 1 1/2' by tomorrow. Yippie! At least my roof doesn't leak with snow on it and the floods should subside.

But guess it's shoveling time tomorrow...

Its rained all fusking day.The Sacramento storm fell and it came in droves.Nevermind the storm outside..its 10 x worse indoors. The kids are stir crazy as hell.Ive had the boys all day..wifey went to a friends babys funeral. She leaves the driveway and 10 min. later..power goes off for half hour..I tried letting the boys watch C.H.O.M.P.S. with Valerie Bertinelli..but it got turned off 30 min. into it.right now Nick Tunes has them quiet with Goodbye Zoey.
I did manage to install a surround sound for the computer..put together a new computer desk..cook a pasta dinner..and chop some firewood in my free time today though.
